Sacred Voice of the Bayou | November 2017-August 2018

  • Named the awardee of an "Our Town" grant, a $42,000  grant-award from the National Endowment of the Arts that was distributed by local granting agency Houston Arts Alliance

  • Led a collective of five artists and multiple assistants for an original large scale multi-media project that utilized social practice, dance, sculpture and interactive components

  • Grant-writing, successful negotiations for additional funds and city fee-waivers, and execution of final reports

  • Acquired arts insurance with Fractured Atlas for both the installation and the event

  • Facilitated all communications, such as: website, social media, radio interviews and more

  • Managed the budget and garnered multiple sponsorships with local businesses

  • Culminated in a city-wide festival and three-month installation that was free to the public

  • For the festival, arranged for port-a-pottys, food trucks, vendor presence, children's entertainment, branded T-shirts and brochures

  • International performance residency at el Museo de Arte Moderno in Mexico City with a focus on experimental theater in the context of decolonization and diaspora studies

  • Performed live in the Guillermo Gomez Peña retrospective--Peña is arguably the most influential Latin American performance artist alive today, and during the course of 2 days there were over 10,000 attendees

Experimental Action Performance Symposium | February 2017

  • Performed "The Love Lucha," an original piece which was a commentary on toxic "machismo," on the Walters Downtown stage

Zoukak Theatre | March- April 2015 & March-April 2016

  • Collaborated and performed with the international Zoukak Theatre on the projects "In Walking Distance" and "Innocent Violence"

  •  By focusing on contemporary issues, both shows were centered on theater as a platform for social reform

  • Created humorous and unique pieces as a culture writer for FreePressHouston, The Menial, and other publications

  • Developed an international interview series, “FlamingFemme,” which featured industry leading women artists in the fields of writing, performance, and fashion

  • Commissioned by The Alley Theatre to write "Don't go to Hell, Dad," an original one act play that was first performed at Stages Repertory, it went on to officially premiere on the Alley's Neuhaus Stage, and was later showcased at multiple venues across Texas through a roadshow which brought the play to community centers, through black box theaters and in schools

  • Curated "Performance Melt" a night of experimental performance work that showcased rappers, comedians, actors and performance artists at the Bushwick art-space "Gallery Petite," located in Brooklyn, NYC.

  • Coordinator for multiple cultural events across Houston; including the poetry and fashion event "Vogue Verses" at the Gaspy Collection, the "Summer Solstice" and "Winter Solstice" poetry readings with Houston Hot Poets, public library performances with Houston Public Poetry, DJ-sets at alternative music venues with DAMNGXRL, and more

  • Tasks as a creative events planner have included venue booking, crafting press releases, social media outreach, phone banking, e-mail correspondence, distributing flyers, ticketing, set up, cleaning, gathering supplies, verifying ID, acquiring event insurance and serving food and alcoholic beverages

  • Grew the organization into the largest independent student-group on campus through weekly focus groups, campaigns, grassroots organizing and relevant social media marketing
